I was reading the poem below and the post that inspired it and a real living lady came to my mind that I would describe in the same glowing terms. She is an anointed poet named Deb. She committed herself to reading a chapter a day from each book in the Holy Bible and writing a poem and short devotion from each daily reading. a lovely poem, i believe that is an ‘acrostic’ form and one that seems very difficult to do as beautifully as you have here. just wanted to visit a bit to ty for liking a few of my recent poems, i really appreciate you reading my words. please don’t be a stranger.
Thank you so much for commenting. I am new to poetry. I used to write songs about 20 years ago…just a few. Then about a year or two ago I started writing a few poems. I hope to study up on the subject of poetry, and all of its forms, because I would like to learn the rules. I am never quite sure if I am doing it right.

yes, you could and probably should learn about traditional poetry and it’s forms, and you could just write from your heart too. not that this novice can give any advice, but i’ve never studied poetry or even taken a single writing class. with the acceptance of free verse and now micro poetry, the form is less important than the content.
you have an empathetic heart and very discerning eye, ingredients that cannot be taught, you own all the tools to write wonderful poetry Theresa. i wrote very early on in ‘scribbling’, it’s on ‘your favorites’ list at the top of my blog….’there is no failure, only another blank page’

We both have the same blog format…except yours is grey, and mine is purple. I will have to go to my dashboard and see if I can figure out how to make a “favorites” section. In the mean time, I will add you to my blogroll at Moore to Ponder as soon as I decide which of your posts is my favorite. If you look at my blogroll there you will find that each blog I list there is a link…..not to that blog’s home page, but to the page of a particular post that I thought was extra special. 🙂
