“The Issues of life”: Introduction

I was reading a blog post that is written by someone who is so precious in both the Lord’s sight and in mine. It got me thinking about spiritual bread. Below is a link to her post and a prayer that I like to pray.

Scripture Reference;

“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 KJV

 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:1-5 KJV

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command…

Scripture Reference;

14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.

15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.

16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” 2Corinthians 4:14-16 KJV

My precious friend Deb is blogging again! I am so thankful.

“Revive Us Again” by William P. Mackav

We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.

Refrain

Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.

Refrain

All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.

Refrain

All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
And guided our ways.

Refrain

Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

Refrain

Scripture Reference;

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:14-16 KJV

Well, I am wondering if I should have inserted punctuation marks. I guess I will leave it as it is.

“The Commandments of Christ” (Introduction)

“…Lately I have had a desire to return to the four gospels and read what Christ’s commandments are…”

Scripture reference;

 If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

I think I am going to try to blog today. I still have other series that I need to finishmy “Loving Pursuit” series and a couple of others that I started and then abandoned about a year ago. But I have to feel “lead” whenever I write anything.  Recently I have had this verse on my mind:

 If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15

Ever since my early teens I have wanted to be an obedient follower of Christ.
At times my heart would cool and the lure of the world would entice me for a season here and there. Yet even then, I had that drawing going on inside meconvicting me, and eventually compelling me to return to the Lord.

Autumnal Tasks

I enjoy her blog so much. She is such a thoughtful and inspiring author.

Cynthia Reyes - Author

Autumn is here, rustling all of the leaves

Soon ’twill be time to take care of the eaves

Last time we didn’t, we paid a big price

The eavestroughs were clogged, a magnet for ice

~~

And speaking of leaves, I’ve had cause to wonder

Why don’t they stay near their trees over yonder?

Why does the wind blow them into our place

Why, when around them is so much free space?

Photo by Hamlin Grange

And speaking of wind, there’s a shutter gone loose

Far up near the roof, nearly high as the spruce

And if it should fall, it may land on our heads

Or just fly away as we sleep in our beds

~~

And speaking of beds, there’s the garden to tend

And errors we really must hasten to mend

Those wild strangling vines and the tough creeping Jenny

You put up with one and you end up with many.

Scripture reference;

“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

If you are looking for a cheerful plant chrysanthemums are a great choice. There are so many different kinds. There are tall mums and short mums; single flowered daisy-like mums, and pompom shaped mums. The chrysanthemums that you buy from a florist can be planted in the ground, but usually will not survive the winter.

Most people plant mums, so they can enjoy their blooms in the fall, but they actually bloom in spring/summer. How do you solve this dilemma? You pinch them! Just reach down and pinch off the little flower buds whenever you see them (every 2-4 weeks). Stop pinching them after July 4th. Then you should be…
