The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.” John 1:1-4 KJV

14 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15 For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16 KJV

All His Benefits (Part 6)

“Our souls must decide over and over throughout each day whether they will follow the flesh or the Spirit. If we do follow the Spirit, it will be the result of acknowledging the Lord…pausing to think about Him and calling on Him in prayer, and turning to His word for instruction.”

The Lord’s Prayer: Part 2 ( Which Art In Heaven )

29398_1280703869156_3490772_n (2)

Scripture reference;

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.” Matthew 6:9 KJV

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 18:10 KJV

In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14:2-3 KJV

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.” John 6:37-40 KJV

11  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.” Hebrews 1:1-4 KJV

Do you ever think about Heaven? Have you ever wondered what it is like? The Bible also mentions that some day there will be a new Heaven and a new earth.

My knowledge about that subject is limited. I have read a little, and still have so much to learn. But I do know a few things that come from the scriptures I have shared. I know that both the Father and Jesus, His only begotten son, is there.  I know that those who have received Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord are promised that they have a home waiting for them there. I also know that each of them have angels that behold the Father’s face.

It is my hope that in this series on “The Lord’s Prayer” we will learn things that will make that prayer more meaningful to us, and cause us to magnify the Lord more fully.

Below is another prayer that Jesus prayed for all who would receive Him. In it we can sense the atmosphere of Heaven.

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. John 17 KJV

Tiger Lillies (Lilium lancifolium) growing in my backyard

Scripture reference;

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:1-3 KJV

The Tiger Lily is such a fascinating plant. It grows from a bulb reaching about 4 feet (1.2 m) tall.

They are easy to grow. Here is an article where you can read more about its growing conditions.  http://www.pfaf.org/user/plant.aspx?LatinName=Lilium+lancifolium

I was doing some reading about this plant and many sources stated that parts of it are edible for human consumption, but the pollen is toxic, and all of its parts are toxic to cats. here is a link to an article that was interesting:  http://www.eattheweeds.com/tiger-lily/

The Tiger Lily is such a striking plant that I can’t help but think about how miraculous God’s work of creation really is whenever I see them growing.

“Tiger Lilies” by Theresa Anne Moore

Morning sun and dappled shade

From sweet gum tree and oak tree casting

Provide a place where the squirrel can raid

His secret stocks and break his fasting

The honeysuckle scent will pervade

As it reaches, winds, and succeeds at grasping.

And in the midst is the warm glow made

By the tiger lilies that is everlasting.

The picture has been taken and lovingly displayed.

A Loving Pursuit: Part 4 (Divine Measures)

“Of all the questions I have about Cain the one I find the most serious is this: ”Did God continue to Love Cain after He killed Abel?…”

Scripture references;

“12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, marked off the heavens with a [nine-inch] span, enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and…
