A Loving Pursuit: Part 31 ( Godly Sorrow)

“Godly sorrow–what a phrase! Have you known it? Have you caused it?

Have you caused it, then known it, and as a result, felt it?”

Moore to Ponder

Scripture reference;

Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” James 5:11 KJV

“8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” 2 Peter 3:8-9 KJV

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom…

“Y” Is For Yarrow

Scripture references;

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18 KJV

Yarrow is a hardy perennial plant with fern-like leaves. It blooms from midsummer into fall. They are heat tolerant, and get to be about 3 feet tall by two feet wide. They come in a number of colors including red, white, pink, and yellow, and look great in a naturalized setting. Give them full sun and well drained soil and they should be happy. They spread by rhizomes, and also self sow seeds. They can be invasive.

They are also sometimes used in herbal medicine. I haven’t read up on it, so I can’t tell you which parts are safe to be used.

Yarrow in the field growing

Is an herb that is worth knowing.

Breezes induce its gentle motion

Like a boat out on the ocean.

Here at Serenaded Softly, my theme for the month is Blossoming Verses, where I’ll share a picture of something in bloom, a passage of scripture, and a poem.

The Valley of Baca: Part 1 (Tender Eyes)

151007_1461970920719_2611036_n Arthur and PamelaThis is a picture of my husband and our daughter that I believe was taken in 2012, but am not absolutely sure. It might have been taken earlier. He loves his children so much.
“My husband has weak eyes. Actually he only has one eye. The other eye is fake; a prosthetic eye. His real eye is very weak, and deteriorating. He had no vision at all until he was around the age of five, and had to have several surgeries in order to obtain that small amount of vision.”

“Trial of Faith” (A Poem)

Scripture references;

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.” 1 Peter 1:1-12 KJV

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.”  James 1:2-4 KJV

“Trial of Faith” by Theresa Anne Moore

I was told to stay

To wait, to watch, to pray

And not to go astray

To trust and obey

At times it was hard

Each movement must be barred

My thoughts to disregard

…at times it was hard

I was called one day

And heard the Master say

“It’s time. Do not delay.

I will lead the way.”

At times it was hard

To walk with no regard

For nerves that had  been jarred

…at times it was hard

Then there came the day

I heard the Master say

“My heart wants to convey

The joy it feels today!”

A Loving Pursuit: Part 5 ( Love Came to Call)

“I love the way this chapter ends. Mankind was far from perfect, but they had already began to call upon God, and He heard them calling. People are still calling on God today, and He hears each and every cry….and He cares…”

Moore to Ponder

Scripture reference;

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.[d] 18 Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” James 1:17-18 ESV

“9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” John 1:9 KJV

“37 All whom My Father gives (entrusts) to Me will come to Me; and the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, no never, reject one of them who comes to Me].

38 For I have come down from heaven not to do My own will and purpose but to do the willand purpose of Him Who sent Me.

39 And this is the will of Him Who sent Me, that I should not lose any…

Scripture references;

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 KJV

1 In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.

The earth was without form and an empty waste, and darkness was upon the face of the very great deep. The Spirit of God was moving (hovering, brooding) over the face of the waters.

And God said, Let there be light; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3 Amplified Bible

<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. John 1:1-5 KJV

“The Lord hears our every cry…ALL of them. Yet the Lord doesn’t just hear…He inclines! All that goes on in this world creates background noise…an awful racket . Yet I just have to say these words again: “The Lord hears our cries…ALL of them.” He actually inclines… because they matter that much! Pause and consider that wonderful fact!”
