Scripture Reference;

13 But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

15 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:14-16 KJV

The Valley of Baca: Introduction

“The Valley of Baca is sometimes referred to as the “vale of tears”. It doesn’t sound like a place anyone would like to visit. Tear drops aren’t the most sought after items by those who collect treasures either. Yet this place and the tears that have been captured there are sacred…”

Scripture references;

“1  How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.

Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.

Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.

They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.

O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear…

All His Benefits (Part 12 “His Kingdom Ruleth Over All”)

Today I am looking at verse 19:

“The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.“

Scripture Reference;

Psalm 103

 1Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

 2Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

 3Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

 4Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

 5Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

 6The LORD executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed.

 7He made known his ways unto Moses, his acts unto the children of Israel.

 8The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

 9He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever.

“Jesus Doeth All Things Well”

29497_1277613111889_1636070_n

Scripture reference;

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” Revelation 7:17 KJV

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.

There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.

The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth.

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

11 The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.” Psalm 46:1-11 KJV

I was lying in bed thinking about bad things—bad things going on in the world, and bad things I have done in my lifetime. Lately my thoughts have been prone to go that direction. The enemy, Satan—the accuser of the brethren—really uses them as an open window to speak lies to me about both my identity and my situation. One of his constant missions has been to delete from my mind all the memories of good that the Lord has done, especially the good works that I was able (and still am able) to do through Christ working in me.

Now I will return to my story. Earlier today as I was lying in bed wallowing in sadness and shame a phrase came to my mind—”He (Jesus) doeth all things well”. Then I remembered a wonderful sermon I listened to that was concluded with the hymn below. I hope they will bless you. I am all misty eyed at this moment with the joy the Lord imparts to His children, and how perfect his timing really is. ❤

“All The Way My Saviour Leads Me” by Fanny Crosby

All the way my Savior leads me;
What have I to ask beside?
Can I doubt His tender mercy,
Who through life has been my Guide?
Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
Here by faith in Him to dwell!
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well;
For I know, whate’er befall me,
Jesus doeth all things well.

All the way my Savior leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread;
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see;
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.

All the way my Savior leads me
O the fullness of His love!
Perfect rest to me is promised
In my Father’s house above.
When my spirit, clothed immortal,
Wings its flight to realms of day
This my song through endless ages—
Jesus led me all the way;
This my song through endless ages—
Jesus led me all the way.

Here is a version I found on youtube that is so beautiful:

Just Remember…

Scripture reference;

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 KJV

The past few days many of us have been flooded with emotions…shock, fear, anger, and sorrow in response to another mass shooting. It is also an election year. I see people who are supposed to be friends on facebook having heated discussions, and hurting each other with their words.

A lot of times when I am down I like to listen to songs that were popular when I was growing up.  So they are usually songs from the 70’s and 80’s.

I was listening to this love song on YouTube, and it occurred to me that the Lord could sing this song to us. After all, He is the lover of our souls. I hope it blesses you.

“Just Remember I Love You” by Firefall

When it all goes crazy and the thrill is gone
The days get rainy and the nights get long
When you get that feelin’ you were born to lose
Staring at your ceiling thinkin’ of your blues

When there’s so much trouble that you wanna cry
The world has crumbled and you don’t know why
When your hopes are fading and they can’t be found
Dreams have left you waiting, friends have let you down

Just remember I love you
And it’ll be alright
Just remember I love you
More than I can say
Maybe then your blues will fade away

When you need a lover and you’re down so low
Start to wonder, but you never know
When it feels like sorrow is your only friend
Knowing that tomorrow you’ll feel this way again

When the blues come callin’ at the break of dawn
Rain keeps fallin’, but the rainbow’s gone
When you feel like crying but the tears won’t come
When your dreams are dyin’, when you’re on the run

Just remember I love you
And it’ll be alright
Just remember I love you
More than I can say
Just remember I love you
And it’ll be alright
It’ll be alright
It’ll be alright
It’ll be alright

A Beautiful Song

Scripture reference;

“8 The Lord is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.

10 All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord; and thy saints shall bless thee.” Psalm 145:8-10 KJV

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV

I was listening to this beautiful song and was moved to share it here.

Parallels In Songs

Scripture reference;

“Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.”  Matthew 13:52 KJV

I have not been blogging as regularly as I would like to do. I have recently went to work. I took a part-time job back in July where I assist three precious ladies in a supportive living setting. Then I took an additional part-time job a couple weeks ago doing office work in a small local business.

The second job requires me to be very focused on details, but the first one, like time spent at home, provides me with quiet moments from time to time where I am often prompted to reflect on my life. At these times I see the pages of my life turning as if they contained an exhaustive “scope and sequence” with very little mastery achieved. Consequently, I find myself wishing that what I have “actually learned” would be applied more effectively.

The past two days I have spent here at home. A couple of songs came to my mind that seemed to sum up my feelings. I am so thankful for the Lord’s grace, compassion, and mercy.

“Why Me” by Kris Kristofferson (first recorded in 1972)

“And Can It Be That I Should Gain?” by Charles Wesley (written 1738)

And can it be that I should gain
An interest in the Savior’s blood?
Died He for me, who caused His pain—
For me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

’Tis mystery all: th’Immortal dies:
Who can explore His strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
To sound the depths of love divine.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
Let angel minds inquire no more.
’Tis mercy all! Let earth adore;
Let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above
So free, so infinite His grace—
Emptied Himself of all but love,
And bled for Adam’s helpless race:
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!
’Tis mercy all, immense and free,
For O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
Fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray—
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light;
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed Thee.

Still the small inward voice I hear,
That whispers all my sins forgiven;
Still the atoning blood is near,
That quenched the wrath of hostile Heaven.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.
I feel the life His wounds impart;
I feel the Savior in my heart.

No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine;
Alive in Him, my living Head,
And clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach th’eternal throne,
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.
