“Y” Is For Yarrow

Scripture references;

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.” James 3:17-18 KJV

Yarrow is a hardy perennial plant with fern-like leaves. It blooms from midsummer into fall. They are heat tolerant, and get to be about 3 feet tall by two feet wide. They come in a number of colors including red, white, pink, and yellow, and look great in a naturalized setting. Give them full sun and well drained soil and they should be happy. They spread by rhizomes, and also self sow seeds. They can be invasive.

They are also sometimes used in herbal medicine. I haven’t read up on it, so I can’t tell you which parts are safe to be used.

Yarrow in the field growing

Is an herb that is worth knowing.

Breezes induce its gentle motion

Like a boat out on the ocean.

    • It is so good to hear from you! I am sorry to hear you are so tired, and I miss you out here in blog land, but I am hoping that the job is rewarding and a source of joy.
