Scripture references;

Temple Foundation Completed

 10 When the builders had laid the foundation of the LORD’s temple, the priests, dressed in their robes and holding trumpets, and the Levites descended from Asaph, holding cymbals, took their positions to praise the LORD, as King David of Israel had instructed. 11 They sang with praise and thanksgiving to the LORD: “For He is good; His faithful love to Israel endures forever.” Then all the people gave a great shout of praise to the LORD because the foundation of the LORD’s house had been laid.

 12 But many of the older priests, Levites, and family leaders, who had seen the first temple, wept loudly when they saw the foundation of this house, but many others shouted joyfully. 13 The people could not distinguish the sound of the joyful shouting from that of the[d] weeping, because the people were shouting so loudly. And the sound was heard far away. Ezra 3:10-13 HCSB

 1O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. 2Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. 3Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. 4For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Psalm 139:1-4 KJV

They had been living in exile, but were allowed to return. Sacrifice had been restored and the foundation for the new temple had been completed. It was a time of weeping, and a time of shouting for joy….both were happening simultaneously. There are times when everyone at a gathering are in the same mood, and times when we will find mixtures. It reminds me to try to be more understanding. It also reminds me that it is okay if my mood does not rise to the occasion. I can call on the Lord and pour my heart out to Him even in the midst of others who are unaware of what I am feeling. The Lord is good and faithful, and His love endures forever!

    This interests me, Theresa, because I’ve been in situations where I was so happy, and someone or multiple someones were not–and I felt like I wasn’t supposed to be happy, if they weren’t–and then I lost my joy. But that was a long time ago–so maybe I’d handle it better now. I love how you offer us something to think about…God bless you, Sister~~love, Caddo

  2. I have been in those situations, too. The Lord gives us joy, and we should not be ashamed. The enemy is always trying to accuse us of something…trying to steal our joy.

    God bless you, too.

    Love,
    Theresa

    You did it again, comforting me / us! God bless you and thank you, wonderful woman of the Word! 🙂 I had sometimes last week when my mood didn’t rise to the occasion that I thought it should. So thankful that it was okay with Him, and He helped me back up again. Love and prayers for your Friday!

  4. I am so glad it comforted you. I draw so much comfort from what you so faithfully share! 🙂

    Love
