Tender Moments

This picture was taken in the fall of 2010 when my daughter was 16. She and I went to Missouri with her older brother to help him get settled in for the semester. I like her in blue.  :)

Scripture reference;

“1Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. 2And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. 3And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. 4And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. 5And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. 6Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread. 7Wherefore she went forth out of the place where she was, and her two daughters in law with her; and they went on the way to return unto the land of Judah.8And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the LORD deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me. 9The LORD grant you that ye may find rest, each of you in the house of her husband. Then she kissed them; and they lifted up their voice, and wept. 10And they said unto her, Surely we will return with thee unto thy people.” Ruth 1:1-10 KJV

The story of Ruth is one of my favorites. Ruth was the one that actually ended up going with Naomi. The Book of Ruth is Short; only has four chapters. I wonder how things turned out for Orpah? I don’t believe she is mentioned again…at least not in that book. They both loved their mother-in-law, and she loved them.

This post is geared especially toward women…. mothers, daughters, sisters, aunts, and even close friends. Who has the Lord put in your life over the years? Who is there now? It really is a beautiful thing to have someone to love.  :)

    I especially love/relate to the way you phrased this: “it really is a beautiful thing to have someone to love.” “Before”, I would have wanted to read, “to have someone who loves you.” But more recently I have known such great deep joy in loving others–only the Lord can heal and change a needy, self-centered heart. And especially since I started my blog, God has given me some wonderful sisters–and even a spare nephew and a couple nieces–to love. And now you’re my sister, too, Theresa–isn’t it thrilling?!! God bless you this evening–love, sis Caddo

    • I never thought about how I phrased that! I do enjoy being loved, though. I never thought about wanting to be loved…being self-centered. Wow. That is something to think about. 🙂

      God bless you, too!

      Love,
      Theresa

  2. You read and type faster than me. I type so slow and then I mess up and have to start all over again.

    “Renewed ears and heart” that is something I need daily. 🙂

    Oh dear, Theresa–if what I said came out all wrong, I so apologize. I wasn’t speaking about anybody else–just me! Until a year ago, I was miserable, wallowing in the “its all about me” mode. Thank you, Jesus Redeemer, and healer. Are we okay, Sis?

    This is soooo much a blessing. Those dear ones that He has blessed me with make my life so much fun, so much brighter and more beautiful. He knows that we need those relationships, need to love and be loved. 🙂 I only have brothers, biologically, but now through His grace, I have sisters too!!! Thank you for being one of the beautiful ones He’s blessed me with!! love you!

    About your reply to Debbie… I understand how you feel. I’m so thankful for my blogger friends that I can’t really explain it. I just know that when I say my prayers at night, I talk to God about each one, then linger on the smiles and hugs we share. So glad you’re my friend. And the pic is awesome, too! ; )

  6. It means so much to know that you pray like that. Oh no. misting up again…

    Love,
    Theresa
